Music, for many people, is a captivating and liberating way to express emotions and feelings in such a way that words and actions simply cannot. Music is a universal language that knows no ethnic or religious barriers, does not discriminate age or gender or social status, and does not judge by the color of a person’s skin. People all across the globe can connect in a way through music that is virtually impossible by any other means. Though we are all individuals and unique human beings with our own distinct taste and style, music holds the capability of bringing all different sorts of people together. There is virtually no limit to the use and functionality of music, as there is music available for essentially every single human emotion and sentiment. No matter what the occasion, where the environment, or how the mood feels, there is music for practically any and every situation. The genres of music are limitless, and the rich sounds and emotions that music can evoke can be a powerful outlet for an individual to express what cannot be expressed through words or actions.

Perhaps one of the more powerful genres of music in society today is Christian music. Christian songs have the uncanny ability to evoke the deepest emotions that an individual may never have even realized they were there. Religion can be one of the most strongest driving forces in an individual’s life, and through Christian music and Christian songs, the love and the passion that someone contains for their religious beliefs can become quite evident. Christian songs, like many other songs of other genres, can overwhelm an individual to the point of tears. The human body is an amazingly complex organism, and the human mind is no less remarkable. Using the auditory function of the brain, simply hearing certain Christian songs can create nostalgia, bringing back the sweetest memories or even the most horrid nightmares. Life is a constant series of choices, where one decision leads to another, and another. It is not always guaranteed that we make the correct choice, and one wrong decision can provoke a great amount of stress and anxiety, but as aforementioned, music has the ability to console and alleviate some of the stresses that are associated with everyday life. Many individuals find solace in the sounds of Christian music because of the reassuring message that many Christian songs convey, which is the message of Christ, the savior and redeemer to those who follow the Christian faith. Some people may associate Christian music to the gospel songs and hymns that are sung by the choir at a Sunday service at any given church. This however, is quite far from the truth, and Christian songs can actually be categorized into some of the more popular genres in society today, such as pop music and even hip hop at times. Believe it or not, there is such thing as ‘Christian rap’. There have actually been a few Christian music artists who have created Christian songs for everyday listening. Contemporary Christian music has evolved into a genre of music that can be a refreshing change from the content that is played on mainstream radio stations. Christian music is actually one of the genres of music that is spreading throughout the nation and growing in popularity as Christian songs begin to broaden its horizons by extending into multiple genres of music. With the progression and development that is being made with modern day technology and the internet, finding Christian music has never been easier. There are already hundreds of thousands of Christian songs that are available on the internet as well as through other sources as well.

Wherever you may be located, there is bound to be a Christian music radio station that exclusively plays various Christian songs all throughout the day. Do a quick query on any given search engine on the internet for the local Christian music radio station. Christian music radio stations are actually a very good source to pick up on Christian songs due to the wide variety and styles that are played on the station. Different deejays at the Christian music radio station will undoubtedly have different preferences of which Christian songs to play, and listening to the Christian music radio station will help you get a jumpstart on creating your own playlist of favorite Christian songs. If the ordinary Christian music radio station doesn’t seem to have what you are searching for, try looking into Christian music stations offered through satellite. A particular advantage of the satellite stations is that they display the information of the song that is currently playing including the artist name and song title.

With the increasing capabilities of the technology available to the general public, there has been an increase in the popularity and functionality of streaming radio stations exclusively on the internet. What is so great about these internet radio stations is that you can completely customize the genres of music that you want to hear. This is a very helpful way to start picking up on Christian music and compiling a playlist of your favorite Christian songs. Virtually any and everything can be found on the internet if you look in the right places, and online resources are a great gateway to get into Christian music. There may even be a few Christian songs that are available to download free of charge however, the majority of Christian songs that you may want to download will come with a small cost.

Christian music has gradually been expanding into several genres that would not normally be associated with Christian songs and as a result, has been increasing in popularity throughout many communities and societies all across the nation. Because of the positive messages and wholesome lyrics, Christian music can be a constructive influence on young children, which is a refreshing change from some of the songs that are on mainstream radio today. If you have never listened to Christian music before, give it a try and you may be pleasantly surprised.

There are two movies that Christians have been buzzing about so far, this year. The first movie that Christians are finding themselves in discussion about is the latest Leonardo DiCaprio film under the direction of Martin Scorsese, Shutter Island. Many Christians are talking about this particular movie, not only because it was one of the biggest films of the season, but also due to the messages that are given off in the film. Many of those within the Christian community were impressed with the complexity of the film. The Christian community is known for finding favor in those things that provoke its community to think. Many within the Christian community feel as though we get so caught up in our daily routines, that we do not take the opportunity to step back and really assess life as they know it. It is safe to say that the movie, Shutter Island, provoked such thoughts.

The newer release that has many within the Christian community talking is the new film starring Miley Cyrus, The Last Song. The last movie was more of a thinker, this movie is more of a feeler. Christians all across the land said that they were able to feel so deeply when they watched this film. Some people within the Christian community were not as reluctant to see the movie in its opening week. Unless they had Christian families with children that were huge fans of Miley Cyrus, they did not run to the theater as fast to see the film. Even those Christian families that do have children that are quite fond of Miley Cyrus, they were not as reluctant to see the film at first. This is because many Christians were not sure that the movie was going to be the appropriate tone for small Christian children, based on some of the advertisements. But as the Christian reviews poured in and declared that the film actually had a deep message, many Christians lined up for a chance to see the movie themselves.

There are some scenes in the movie that, depending on the discretion of the Christian parents, are too racy for children, but many were impressed that these details all folded together in order to depict a rather powerful message. Christians were glad to see that the film touched on a number of issues that children can relate to. One of the elements that many Christians were proud was introduced from the opening of the film is divorce. The movie explored the different reactions that children feel when their parents are going to divorce, and how that feeling manifests itself in each child. Many Christians were also happy to see that the realm of culture was introduced to the movie in a very fundamental way. And that was through the gift of music, including singing, songwriting and instrument playing. Then there was a great deal of content that Christians enjoyed about love, our relationships, and the lessons that we learn as a result.

There are some beliefs that are quite common to Christianity. These belief systems are not practiced by all members of the Christian faith, but some of their associated values are shared. Nevertheless, one aspect that seems to be most consistent to all groups that practice Christianity is the fact that there is the belief in God. Now, deeper viewpoints as to the details of his existence and exactly how it is that he exists varies across different members of the Christian faith, but one of the key factors that distinguishes those that follow and practice Christianity is the belief in God. The further extent of this core belief of Christianity is the fact that members of the Christian faith believe, not only is there a God, but that there is only one God.

Some members of the Christian faith believe in what is called the Holly Trinity, otherwise known as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit/ Holy Ghost. A large number of those that belong to Christianity take on the belief that God is made up of these three entities. These members of the Christian faith largely draw this conclusion due to some of the statements that are made in the Bible of Christianity. For instance, there is a verse in Matthew of the New Testament that makes mention of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, in reference to baptism.

Those that practice Christianity study the Bible. Certain members of the Christian faith have different version of the Bibles than others, but the various translations are loosely the same. The Christian faith will generally study a Bible that has been broken down into two testaments, The Old Testament, and The New Testament. The Old Testament is most referred to by some members of Christianity as the writings that were tabulated before the birth of Jesus Christ. The distinction is made by these members of Christianity between The Old Testament and The New Testament by referring to The New Testament as the new revelations after the birth of Jesus Christ.

Another belief in Christianity is that there is life after death. The general belief amongst members of the Christian faith is that those who follow the Word and the practices of God like they should, they will live on. Many members of the Christian faith believe that the place in which they will go on to live is in Heaven. It is also believed as one of the key principles of Christianity that they will live on in this dwelling, eternally. Members of the Christian faith also have a distinct theory about those that do not follow God, they will suffer the consequences. It is believed by many in Christianity that these people will be subject to eternal punishment.

The Bible is most often referred to as “the Book of Christianity.” You may also hear the Bible being referred to as “The Good Book.” While others call the Bible, “The Holy Word.” No matter what expression is used in reference to the Bible, there always seems to be some element of respect that is granted with each mention. Even those that do not agree with the religions that stemmed out of the writings of the Bible, there is always a sense of high regard for its level of influence in the lives of so many of this generation, previous generations, and for all those generations to come.

All together, the average Bible has a total of 66 Chapters. The Bible is the set of writings that were composed in both the 14th and 15th centuries B.C. that is one of the core elements of the Christian religion. The Christian Bible is often described as a book of moral teaching. The moral teachings of the Christian Bible are based upon the letters that have been gathered by the apostles from the 14th and 15th century B.C. These are the years recorded in the Bible that make up what is known as The Old Testament. These recordings in the Bible were taken from the scrolls and tablets of the apostles. Some of the apostles that contributed in the writing of the Bible were leaders, such as kings, prophets, and shepherds.

Then there are writings in the Christian Bible that come from after the year A.D. 45. The writings that make up this timeline of the Bible is called The New Testament. One of the concepts of the Christian Bible that is highly studied in The New Testament is the New Covenant. The New Covenant is the recorded newest recorded promise of what God promises those that follow him. There is also sections of the Bible that record the proclamations and trainings of Jesus Christ. The Christian Bible is also highly noted for its rich history on the land of Israel. There is large evidence that has come to the forefront in recent times that shows that the current Christian Bible that was study from is extremely close to that of the original manuscripts and scrolls to which these writings were taken from and placed in what we have come to know as the Christian Bible. The accuracy of the Christian Bible has been largely confirmed due to the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which is the manuscript that was found between 1947 and 1956 in eleven caves in the Dead Sea 1,300 feet below sea level.

A church service is a term that is often used to refer to the religious devotion that takes place at a Christian church. Christian churches will generally have their church services one to three times a week. Generally speaking, the churches that have more than one church service will do so on the same day. However, some of the larger churches are more inclined to conduct a number of church services on any given number of days. The most routine church service will take place on either Saturday or Sunday.

A typical church service may involve a number of different practices, but ultimately churches are a place that people go in order to increase their religious faith and enter into a place of worship. One of the core aspects that is also incorporated into the services that churches conduct is the study of the Christian Bible. Churches make it a point to incorporation of teaching along with each service. For many, this is one of the main reasons that they will go to church- to learn.

One of the core aspects of a church service comes in the form of praise. Most churches have a choir to which is voluntarily formed by those who would like to sing praises for the Church during their devotional services. Many look to the music of the church as a soothing, yet uplifting, spiritual source of influence. Then there are others that adore to sing or to hear their church choir sing because it rings off as music to their ears that serves as a chance for them to worship and form a deeper connection with God.

Depending on what type of denomination of a Christian that people are, they will go to churches that choose to carry out their church services in a slightly different way. Some churches have services that are more calm and soulful, then on the other end of the spectrum, others have services that are more upbeat and physically involving. Either way, even those churches within the same denomination have church services that exhibit so much individual character. As a child we are usually, at some point in our lives, taken to a religious church service. As we begin to grow and mature, it is more of a personal judgment call that will point us in the right direction as to what type of religious service is most suitable for us to attend.
